• Classrooms will visit the library upon a teacher's request. Additional visits will be determined by classroom teachers.

    Library books must be returned in order to check out a replacement book.

    A library book should be returned in the same condition as it is at checkout.

    If a book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the replacement cost for the book will be required from the student in a prompt manner.

    The reasons students will be prohibited from checking out library books are as follows:

    -The student owes money for a library book from the previous school year.

    -The student has an overdue library book (overdue by one month or more/has not been renewed).

    -The student owes money for a damaged or lost library book in excess of $4.99 for the current school year.

    Students who have not returned all library books and/or paid all library fees will be placed on a debt list towards the end of May. As noted in the SMS Student Handbook, students who are on the debt list will be prohibited from participating in the end of the school year field trips in June.
