Gym- Students are required to dress appropriately for class every day they are in gym.  Their dress should include tennis shoes and a gym uniform.  Gym uniforms may be purchased from the gym teacher, or a student may wear a red pair of shorts and either a solid white or gray t-shirt. Boots, flip- flops, sandals, and dress shoes are not acceptable. Gym uniforms should be the appropriate size and length.

***When a student does not dress for gym 4 times during a 9 weeks he or she will be referred to the office.***

Notes from home and doctor’s notes:
If for any medical reason a student is not able to dress out and participate in gym class, a note from home will be accepted for one day only, if approved by the school nurse.  Any exceptions will be at the discretion of the nurse or principal.
If a student has a medical condition or goes to the doctor for any problem that may affect his or her performance in gym class, the student should request a note from the doctor detailing his or her restrictions or limitations.  The note should also include when or if the student is able to resume normal activities.  This note should be given to the physical education teacher on returning to school.  Doctor’s notes will be strictly followed until the student is released from the doctor’s care.

Health - Students should be in their assigned desks before the tardy bell rings. Students should have taken care of any needs before class begins and should have all necessary materials. Students will be using hall passes for the health class. When a student uses up all of the spaces on the pass, he/she will not be allowed to leave the classroom.  Any health work that is missed due to absence should be made up within 5 days from returning to school. Students are responsible for getting their missed work.

Tardy Policy – Students should be in the squad location (gym) or seat (health) when the tardy bell rings. If they are not they will be marked tardy.
6th and 7th – On the 4th tardy during the 9 weeks the student will be referred to the office. Every time after that is also a referral. (4 times tardy = 1 absence)
8th – On the 3rd tardy during the 9 weeks the student will be referred to the office. Every time after that is also a referral. (3 times tardy = 1 absence)

Students will be expected to follow the school rules outlined in the student handbook.
