• In math, we are currently working multiplication. We are learning that multiplication is repeated addition and we are also learning about arrays. We are practicing skip counting patterns (multiples) on a daily basis.

In addition to the normal practice sheet at night, your child will be expected to write given multiple patterns nightly. For example, he/she may be asked to write their 2's, 3's, 4's, and 5's multiples (skip counting patterns). (In other words, the 2's from 2-24, the 3's from 3-36, the 4's from 4-48, and the 5's from 5-60.)These patterns can be written right on the homework sheet or on a separate piece of notebook paper.

From Nov.18-Dec.11, we will complete 1 minuteTimed Multiplication Quizzes daily. ALL STUDENTS will receive a grade for the multiplication tables that they master. Students that complete all multiplication tables from the 0's-12's successfully on or before Dec.11th will receive a 100.

All students should practice on multiplication facts each night. The first class to successfully master their multiplication facts will win an ice cream sundae party. So, STUDY!!! STUDY!!!! STUDY!!!!!

    SOL 3.5

    SOL 3.6

The student will represent multiplication, using area, set, and number line models.
